The Cambridge Network specializes in matching international students with committed, American host families in our school community by providing ongoing, local support to both students and hosts through GPHomestay.

GPHomestay empowers international students to achieve the genuine American educational experience by matching students with warm, welcoming American host families and providing local, ongoing support for both students and hosts.

Specifically, GPHomestay offers:

  • Recruitment and screening of all host applicants to ensure that all of our students live with caring, qualified families (screening includes home inspections and background checks).
  • On-going support from a local staff member, including monthly check-ins completed either in-person or on the phone.
  • Additional services are available depending on location, including: housing progress reports, participation in cultural activities, tutoring, and university consulting.

GPHomestay relies on its on-the-ground, local staff members to locate warm, caring hosts in your community. Because our staff members live in the community, we are able to interview host families and review the home of our hosts in-person.

GPHomestay expects all hosts to welcome students into their home as another member of their family and to supervise the student as one would his or her own child. Additionally, all students are provided a private bedroom containing a bed, desk and dresser.

Additionally, students have the opportunity to receive 2-3 meals per day and/or daily transportation to and from schools should the student prefer.
