Senior Nicholas Reyes wins The American Council of Engineering Scholarship

It is with great distinction that Saint Thomas More Academy in Magnolia announces that senior Nicholas Sanchez Reyes as the scholarship winner in the American Council of Engineering Companies/Delaware scholarship award program. Nick was awarded the largest scholarship amount in ACEC/Delaware history, to be used towards his engineering education. The Selection Committee ultimately decided on Nick because of his impressive resume, outstanding scholastic record and service to the community. He is currently President of the Student Government body, a National Honor Society member and has participated in Boys State and the Governor’s School for Excellence. Besides his engineering ambitions, he is also an accomplished singer, having been selected for the National Association for Music Education national choir in Nashville, TN this year.
Nick will be attending the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis next year, where he will study engineering. Nick said, “I hope that as an engineer, I will be able to design various projects for the benefit of numerous people, whether it be ships for the Navy or environmentally friendly buildings, bridges or highways.” Principal Rachael Casey proudly proclaimed that “Nick’s accomplishments and example are a credit to him and to Saint Thomas More Academy, and its goals of academic excellence using Catholic teachings and gospel values.”
