THE INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PROGRAM AT SAINT THOMAS MORE ACADEMY

It’s really easy to fit in. Here, I feel more comfortable. Teachers here are really nice. Whenever I need help, they always stay and help me. Our school has a nice fine arts program. It’s been an amazing experience.

Saint Thomas More Academy’s international student program supports and furthers our mission of developing students who respect and appreciate diversity, understand other cultures and act as responsible citizens in our global society.

We desire to maintain a diverse mix of students from all over the globe. Our 2016-2017 academic year includes 12 international students from China and South Korea. We have also hosted students from Columbia, Switzerland, Spain, and Japan.

In order to prepare them to be successful members of the Saint Thomas More Academy community and to ensure a smooth transition, first year international students participate in an orientation program which prepares them for what to expect in an American learning environment. International students also participate in school field trips to cities such as Washington, D.C. and New York and participate in special events such as our yearly Lunar New Year Celebration.

Teachers are nice and American students are polite. I liked playing tennis at Saint Thomas More because the coaches are good.

I love the school because there are a lot of international students, so you get to know a lot of people from different cultures and countries. You get to play sports and be part of different clubs. You get to spend time with people that are not in your classes.
